The Leadership of The African Federation for Gifted and Talented (AFGT) is vested in the Executive Federation Secretariat.

The Executive Federation Secretariat is the governing body of the AFGT. It is ultimately responsible for the stewardship and management of the WTF’s affairs and accountable to the members.

Executive Federation Secretariat consists of up to seven (7) elected members who serve a three-year renewable term – The Federation Patron & Liaison, President, Deputy President, Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General, Treasurer, and Deputy Treasurer.

Dr. Victor Langenberg

FEDERATION PATRON AND LIASON

Dr Victor Langenberg, born in Uden, North-east Brabant, the Netherlands, has spent most of his career in understanding, sensing, and advancing African wetlands, rivers, and lakes systems and functioning. He completed numerous appraisal missions, reconnaissance surveys, technical scoping studies, and ecosystemic assessments. He coordinated multidisciplinary advisory teams on environmental, socioecological, and socioeconomic development programs while including new communication tools (advocacy theatre, drama) to break through language and cultural barriers. He is advisory board member of several societies and foundations supporting African science and business development and is now advisor at ACACIA water on ecosystem-based water management and socio-ecological restoration to develop and demonstrate new inspiring businesses.

Pieter Engelbrecht

FEDERATION PATRON AND LIASON DELEGATE FOR SOUTHERN AFRICA

Pieter is a South African who has been involved in the tourism industry since 1991. He currently has traversed the continent of Africa largely in making tourists have the real feel of Africa. As the owner of Berur Toiyo Safaris Ltd, Pieter has been philanthropic and helped many orphans across the continent of Africa. The Federation presents him with a chance to reach out to poor, but gifted, teenage mothers in Africa.

Peter Mutuma Kibanga

FEDERATION LIASON ADMIN

Peter Mutuma Kibanga holds an MBA degree from university of Nairobi (Kenya) as well as Bachelor of Commerce (B.comm) degree from the same university. He worked at Firestone EA, branch manager, Reckitt Benkiser regional sales Manager, standard Chartered bank, as a senior Relationship Manager, NCBA as Regional Business Development Manager, entrepreneur in motor vehicle parts industry, being the founder of Unique Parts Ltd , and Smart Motor Vehicle Cooling.

Prof. Humphrey Oborah

FEDERATION PRESIDENT

Prof. Humphrey Oborah , has been an advocate of talent for over 24 years and serving as World Talent Federation Secretary General/CEO. The Kenyan who struggled from a very poor background is instrumental for creating several Gift and Talent Screening Clinics, Specialized Academic Clinics and working with several universities to support the gifted and talented. He had to fight for gifted and talented in Africa (esp. in his own country Kenya) at a time when people did not understand the ideals of Gift and Talent in education; he actually got labeled as “fake” alongside the institutions he created, much as many agree he was right all along today.

Dr. Charles Gwinyai Tsorayi

FEDERATION VICE PRESIDENT

Dr Charles Tsorayi is a holder of MBA (Nottingham Trent University). He has held various positions up to CEO. He has established an Organisational Development firm to work on identified gap of transforming individuals, organisations and communities. Currently, he is one of the Senior-Consultant involved in Zimbabwe government reforms. His assignment includes guiding Zimbabwe Council of Higher Education (ZIMCHE) which is the Apex of all universities in Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) which is an open and distance learning university and Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) a university spearheading commercialization, industrialization and innovation in Zimbabwe.

Dr. Simon Bhan Chuol

TREASURER GENERAL

Dr. Simon Bhan Chuol, born in Nasir County, Upper Nile State, South Sudan and working as Executive Director of UNKEA. Simon has made a lot of achievement during his tenure working as Executive Director of UNKEA having a lot backing by UNDP. In 2009 he reconciled two fighting clans of Nasir and Longechuk county and the community are now living peaceful without any problem. Further, vulnerable populations were reached with humanitarian and development services such as health, nutrition, food security and livelihood, education, WASH, Access to justice and peace building. He is currently dealing with efforts on how support the Gifted and Talented in at Risk situations in and around South Sudan.

Alain Mulowayi Kabeya

DEPUTY TREASURER

KABEYA MULOWAYI alain is a leading Pan-Africanist who is currently the President of Tribal Freedom Fighters(TFF Africa). Tribal Freedom Fighter is an international non sectarian, non-partisan, non-profit organisation that promotes an innovative, value-based approach to unity. It fights against tribalism in investing in peace building. Tribal Freedom Fighter is based in Cape Town , South Africa. Mr Kabeya also has vast interest in Agriculture, Mining and Property development in South Africa and DRC Congo. He is passionate about talents and uses his vast experience and resources to uplift the Gifted and Talented of Africa. Currently representing AFGT, as delegate, in South Africa and DRC, he is seen as instrumental for the setup of Professional and Scientific Gift and Talent Clinics in South Africa and DRC Congo before influencing similar setups in other African countries.

Sylvester Ngan Yengo

SECRETARY GENERAL

Ngan Sylvester Yengo is an educationist, education advocate/activist, an education consultant and Regional Pedagogic Inspector in charge of Physics teaching in the North West Region of Cameroon, overseeing activities of the North West Association of Physics Teachers(NWAPT). Sylvester holds an undergraduate Diploma(Equivalent of a B.Sc) in Physics Education (University of Yaounde 1), B.Ed. in STEM Education and M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the University of Bamenda. Sylvester is a founding board member of Cross-Border Legacy Foundation (CBLF)-USA, a US based 501(c) non-profit organization and also a founding board member of Legacy Sports Academy Bamenda (LSAB).

Dr. Benoit Katula Makiong

DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL

Dr. Benoit Katula Makiong holds a Doctorate degree and has a wealth of experience in financial management. He is also a lecturer at University of Uélé (Faculty of Economics) in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has also been Vice-Dean of studies in charge of research and a great supporter of talent especially children.
